Rainbows and Peacocks

Hello

I hope everyone is having a wonderful time getting ready for Christmas

I have been doing a small amount of stitching with my start on Twisted Rainbow Sampler.  I have done the first 2 bands.  The silks from Fiberlicious are lovely to work with, and I am loving the colours in the peacock fantasy collection

Ten more squares

Hello

Where is the year going, we are getting so close to Christmas

I have been stitching since my last post.

Another diagonal row of colour waves is complete (10 more squares)!

I have also had a couple of new starts, one is a long term project for my husband - a Supersized HAED of a NASA image - Small Magellanic Cloud.  It will be finished in my lifetime!  I am stitching using tent stitch so it does grow quickly in the background areas.

I also ordered some silk threads from Fiberlicious and I could not resist starting Northern Expressions needlework Twisted Rainbow Sampler.  I tried out the fabrics in my stash and choose Urewerea Mist 32 count lugana from Country Stitch.  The silks are lovely.

Happy stitching

Next Eleven

Hi

Best wishes to everyone

I have completed another 11 squares of colorwaves - or another row as I have chosen to stitch this using diagonal rows.

I love seeing what the new pattern is for each block.

This design is fun to stitch.

Happy stitching - I will be starting the next row

Colourful Silks and Colorwaves

Hello

Firstly, thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment about my last post, they are always much appreciated.

My order from the Silkmill  arrived this week.  It was beautifully packaged in tissue paper with a ribbon tie.  This is the first time I have ordered from them and the silks are beautiful.  The package included a small complimentary pot of Thread Heaven as an extra surprise.

These will be used for a cross stitch and blackwork project that I hope to start soon.  I love the sheen of silk threads.

After taking some time out to stitch Oasis I have returned to my larger Needle Delight Originals project - Colorwaves.  I love the designs that Kathy Rees creates.  I have just passed the halfway mark.  The colours are so vibrant.

I have chosen to stitch the outline grid with black rather than the original white.

I hope everyone is having a pleasant weekend.

Happy stitching

Oasis is finished

Hi

I have finished the last part of Oasis this morning.  It was a fun design to stitch, although the endless knot formation in the long lengths of the Watercolours used for the sprat's heads around the outside was driving me crazy.

I did undo one of the Sprat's heads and redo it to get a better balance of colours with the variegated watercolours.  I also used up the entire card of Entice thread - just had enough.

It is nice to start and finish something in a short time period - must remember to continue to do some smaller projects in amongst the large ones.

Here is my finish

Happy stitching

Oasis has grown

Hi

I have finished part 4 of Oasis!

I only have part 5 to go and the extra hints were only released this week.

This means I am up to date with a project, which does not often happen now.

I have lots of Sprat's Heads to do around the outside to finish the design.

Hope everyone else has had a great weekend of stitching.

Oasis Progress

Hi

I have managed to do some more work on Oasis in the last 2 days.

I have completed the first 3 parts now apart from some long stitches which I will do at the end.

I love the way the pinks and oranges have come together.

More soon, hopefully

Time passes

Hi

Much has happened since my last post - a long time ago.

I was looking at my blog and realised it is a lovely chronicle of my stitching and so I am going to try to post my work more frequently.

I have just prepared everything for a new smaller counted canvas work design.  The design is Oasis by Kathy Rees of Needle Delights Originals and has currently been offered through the Shining Needle Society.

I have chosen the Fiesta colour way, pinks and oranges, a change from the blues and greens I often choose to use.

I have everything ready to go so will make a start this afternoon.

I love the vibrant colours.

Hopefully, I will have a start to show later.
