Done!

Thanks for the encouragement!!!!  Much appreciated.

I have finished part 10, finished the garden last night and have just done the copper border lines now.  (Martina just beat me and had just posted Part 11 as I walked in the door)

So here is Baroque at the end of part 10 - now 41.7% (or there about) complete.

Two more little gardens for part 11.

Happy stitching

Where does the time go?

Well, I have hardly stitched since my last post!  I have been away for work and so 8 nights passed before I picked up my needle again last night.  The question is "Will I have Baroque finished before the next instalment arrives?".

Back to my needles now!

My Weekend

Here I am at the end of a hermit and stitching weekend, which was only somewhat successful from the stitching point of view.  I did manage to get some work done on both projects but, as is nearly always the way, not as much as I would have liked.

I did however spend some time playing with my friends new baby chickens.  Very cute and one is named sparkle!

So here is my weekend stitching progress

Baroque Garden

And 3 french hens (only 2 so far)

Hope everyone else had a good weekend and got lots of stitching done.  I look forward to seeing everyone's progress.

Framed - Two Turtle Doves

Here is 2 turtle doves (Nora Corbett) framed.  I love this one and it looks great next to partridge.

Japan

I have been shocked and saddened by the events that have unfolded in Japan in the last week with the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami.  I had the opportunity to travel through parts of Japan last year in winter.  Very cold but very beautiful.

I have updated my blog to have an oriental garden appearance in honour of this wonderful country and have included a handful of my favourite photos from this trip.  I am sure that, in time, this country will recover and rebuild and my thoughts are with the people of Japan

The last photo, which I love with the blossom, is my profile photo.

It is international hermit and stitch weekend this weekend.  I intend to work on Baroque and 3 french hens and hope to get a reasonable amount of stitching done.  If interested go to Random Ramblings and join in the fun.  Here is to a weekend of happy stitching.

One French Hen

A long weekend and not very much stitching.

Womadelaide (World of Music festival) was on this weekend in Adelaide and I spent a couple of days at this listening to music from around the world.  I have also been into work each day this weekend.

I have not touched Baroque this weekend but I have stitched a french hen.

I could not resist doing her beading, she needed an eye!

New Stash!

I love getting parcels of new stash in the post.  The pattern, fabric and sparkly bits I did not already have for 3 french hens has arrived.  I am stitching all of them on 28 count gravestone linen from stitches and spice.

I have also 'kitted up' a little blackwork project from this months Gift of Stitching, by Elizabeth Almond. I will be stitching on 32 count white linen.  The threads are DMC, but there will be some beads for sparkle.  I liked the colours and I enjoy blackwork with the patterns, but don't do very much of it.

Started the other little Baroque garden last night.

Happy stash collecting!

Left side garden finished

Very much a stitching weekend, but I did find time to change my blog background.  I have decided to have a changing blog appearance to suit the time of year.  (And I am not Irish)

Here is my weekend progress on Baroque.   I have so enjoyed stitching this little garden, one of 2 for Part 10 of Baroque.  Just could not stop!

The colours are so pretty.  The other side has the same layout but different colours so it will feel like something new.

I like Baroque as it is composed of many smaller different elements.

It will take me a bit longer to do the other garden.

I am still waiting for 3 french hens to arrive as well.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

How much will I get done this weekend?

Start of the month and the next instalment of Baroque.  Two little gardens with lots of specialty stitches - yay!

Here is my progress as of Saturday morning, so I can see how much I do by the end of the weekend.

I also like that I am still getting some new colours to use even after 10 months.

Happy weekend stitching
